Is Manisa Metropolitan Municipality switching to the AK Party? Clear Answer from Besim Dutlulu
NEW Party's Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Besim Dutlulu denied allegations that he will switch to the AK Party. Dutlulu announced that he has not held any meetings with AK Party figures, including Minister Murat Kurum.
Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Besim Dutlulu responded on social media to allegations regarding party change raised in the political agenda.
Claimed to be joining the AK Party, Dutlulu stated that news reports suggesting he met with representatives of the ruling party do not reflect the truth.
Dutlulu stated that he has had no contact with Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum, nor with AK Party's Hamza Dağ and Manisa Deputy Ahmet Mücahit Arınç.
Reacting to the allegations against him, Dutlulu stated that he has been following the news reports in the press with astonishment, adding that the claims put forward have no basis in truth.
Having left the CHP in July 2026, Besim Dutlulu had joined the NEW Party and become the party's first metropolitan municipality mayor.
