Decision in the Sarıgül Investigation! 15 People Arrested, Including Murat Ağırel
In the money laundering investigation, 15 people, including journalist Murat Ağırel and Ömer Sarıgül, have been arrested.

A new development has taken place in the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the alleged laundering of proceeds from crime.
The procedures at the courthouse for the 17 detained individuals have been completed. While arrest warrants were issued by the judgeship for 15 people sent by the prosecutor's office with a request for arrest, judicial control measures were applied to two suspects.
Murat Ağırel and Ömer Sarıgül Arrested
Among those arrested are journalist Murat Ağırel, Ömer Sarıgül (the son of Erzincan Deputy Mustafa Sarıgül), and his ex-wife Aylin Kotil.
Within the scope of the investigation, after taking the statements of the 17 suspects at the prosecutor's office, 15 people had been referred to the criminal judgeship of peace with a request for arrest, and two people with a request for judicial control.
Two People Released Under Judicial Control
The judgeship decided to apply judicial control measures to Cemil Vasken Barın and Uğur Kurtulan.
With the arrest warrants issued for the other 15 suspects, the investigation has entered a new phase.
What is the Subject of the Investigation?
The investigation is based on allegations that large amounts of money with unspecified sources were laundered through companies established domestically and abroad.
It is claimed in the investigation file that certain financial transactions and investment agreements were used to legitimize criminal proceeds.
The legal validity of these allegations will be evaluated during the investigation and potential trial processes.
Emir Sarıgül Had Surrendered to the Police
It was reported that Emir Sarıgül, who had a detention warrant against him within the scope of the file, also went to the police department with his lawyer on the evening of October 18 and surrendered.
The proceedings concerning Emir Sarıgül are being evaluated separately from the decision regarding the 15 people announced to have been arrested.
The Judicial Process Continues
The arrest decisions issued do not mean that the suspects are guilty. The examination of evidence and the legal processes of the relevant individuals within the scope of the investigation are ongoing.
New judicial decisions and statements are expected to be made in the case file.
