The NEW Party Central Executive Board (MYK) evaluated the political developments on the agenda during a meeting chaired by Chairman Özgür Özel. Making a statement after the meeting, Party Spokesperson Zeynel Emre announced that a new rally will be held in Istanbul.

Rally on Wednesday, October 21

According to the decision made by the party leadership, the rally will take place on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 19:30 in front of Halk TV's building in Istanbul.

It was announced that the event was planned to show solidarity with the employees and managers following the appointment of a trustee to the television channel.

Emphasis on Press Freedom

In his statement, Zeynel Emre drew attention to the importance of freedom of the press and expression. Stating that the rally is not limited to a single political party, Emre expressed that citizens from different political views can also attend the event.

The Party Spokesperson also announced that Özgür Özel will discuss the matter with the leaders of other political parties.

Came After the Trustee Decision
