Ukraine strikes oil refinery in Russia: Sharp reaction from Zelenskyy to Trump
Ukraine hit an oil refinery in Russia's Ryazan region. Zelenskyy reacted to the energy ceasefire and Trump's decisions.

Ukraine has targeted an oil refinery in Russia following the breakdown of a short-lived agreement intended to pause attacks on energy facilities. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy argued that Russia is continuing its attacks while also criticizing the policies of US President Donald Trump.
Energy infrastructure has once again become a target in the war between Russia and Ukraine. It was reported that Ukraine launched a drone attack on an oil refinery in Russia's Ryazan region on October 15.
A fire broke out at the facility, located about 300 kilometers southeast of Moscow, following the attack. Russian officials confirmed the incident, and statements regarding the attack also came from the Ukrainian side.
Energy ceasefire debate
US President Donald Trump recently announced that an agreement had been reached between the two countries to halt attacks on energy facilities.
However, the Ukrainian administration argued that Russia continued to target Ukraine's energy infrastructure during this period.
Stating that Moscow failed to implement the initiative to halt mutual attacks, Zelenskyy announced that operations against Russian oil facilities have resumed.
Zelenskyy criticizes the US
The Ukrainian leader said that recent decisions by the Washington administration have negatively impacted his country's defense capabilities.
Stating that restrictions, particularly on intelligence sharing and military communication systems, have created serious problems for Ukraine, Zelenskyy also reacted to the energy deal made by the US with Russia.
Contacts with Europe continue
Following these developments, Zelenskyy held meetings with European Union and NATO representatives in Brussels.
The Ukrainian administration wants increased air defense support against Russian attacks and strengthened military cooperation with European countries.
Recent developments show that energy security continues to be a major point of contention in diplomatic efforts to end the war.
